2014 is finally here! Last year has been interesting and mad at the same time. Lots had happened but two things are evident, my twins are growing, this blog audience is also growing. So I would like to thank you who take time to read my blogs here and those who follow my posts over the past 12 months. I will endeavour to write more stuff this year and hope that you will find them useful and interesting.
Annabelle and Ashton are now one year old (though technically they are still ten months old) and full of characters. Ashton has become an expert in crawling and standing while Annabelle is an expert in eating. Perhaps this is the first month both Sue and I find amusing to watch them play. As both are ‘mobile’, they will simply roam around the living room and explore new things (I mean messing up the room). As they learn more, their level of understanding is also growing. We think now they both understand more simple words and read our expressions, such when we are angry and annoyed! As they don’t know how to ‘share’ things between brother and sister, neither is willing to give up his/her ‘possession’. Annabelle really hates Ashton when he intrudes her ‘space’, it is funny to watch but sometimes in the future, we will have to teach them about sharing!
Ever since they learnt to crawl, they were more happy playing by themselves. It kind of relieved our duty as a ‘carrier’ but only for a little while until they got tired. Ashton in particular, he’s never been happier. I remembered that only a couple of months ago, he constantly asking people to hold him to different places. I knew then he could never sit still for long. Now that he’s mobile, he feels free! I really can’t image when he starts to walk and run!!!
Annabelle is more gentle, she’s crawling around but still sit most of the time and plays with toys. She’s a character to watch though. She also loves story books. Every time when Sue or I read a story book, she’s the first one to come. She will even stream when she gets excited! Annabelle will stay until I finish reading the book when Ashton already crawl away mid-way through. Is it a boy thing?
A year on, we notice a lot of changes not only of them but also our routines. Now they are feeding more solid food and their daily feeding schedule is slightly different. There’s no POONAMI anymore though their wastes have become more smelly! We still have the habit of sniffing their bums from time to time to check if they have just done a number 2. Now on the subject of changing nappies, Ashton has become really difficult to ‘hold down’ during changes. He always wants to crawl away and whenever we hold him down, he will give us the biggest and loudest cry ever!
Now that they are ‘easier’ to handle, it’s also time to go out slightly more often to see friends. We have been out and about this month, birthday party and parks. I can’t wait unit summer though!
Oh, yes, we’ve got new carseats for them! Now that Ashton and Annabelle are facing forward, they don’t cry as much now. It’s also easier to check them via the rearview mirror too. A sign of growing up, they are on a new stage now!
Some more snaps here!
